November has been a month in which the Premier League’s top three sides of Chelsea, Manchester City and Liverpool have started to separate themselves at the top of the league. Choosing picks from these sides may therefore seem a safe bet, and it’s their full backs that are providing the best value at the moment. Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold came into his own in November, scoring 38 points in four gameweeks, while Reece James is now the highest point scorer for league leaders Chelsea, with 76 points as of Gameweek 14, despite only starting seven games this season. Cancelo is also enjoying a great season – his 82 points making him City’s top scorer by 13 clear points – something few might have predicted given the more expensive attacking players in the reigning champion’s squad.

Unsurprisingly, all three are now heavily selected, and their values have rose. For those looking for value among other full backs, they may now look to Tottenham’s Sergio Reguilon. Boosted by Antonio Conte’s hire as manager, Spurs have hit some form. Conte used attacking full backs to powerful effect when at Chelsea, and Reguilon’s 26 points in three games during November suggests he could play an important part in the rest of the season for Spurs.

We have two managers to congratulate for topping the Manager of the Month table in November – each scoring 282 points in the four games. Gemma Crouch of Liberty Specialty Markets made great use of her bench boost in the final week of November to score 100 points and secure herself a bottle of champagne. Also claiming a bottle is last year’s overall champion Cormac Murphy of Caulfield Insurance – who had a great month which moved him up to fourth overall as he attempts to defend his title.

In the overall standings, Mark Horgan has emerged as the man to chase down. By the end of Gameweek 14, his team Joalso sat 46 points clear of the closest challengers, on 996 points. December is always a massive month in the Fantasy season though, which can make or break a team’s season. The manic Christmas schedule always throws up some surprising results, as well as a greater chance of key players being rested, and a greater likelihood of weather or virus related postponements. With all this uncertainty and six gameweeks to fit in, big moves can be made in December, potentially throwing open the contest for the end-of-season Apple Watch top prize.
