Role Summary
We are recruiting for a Head of Claims – US to join our leading global MGA Rokstone Underwriting. As the Head of Claims - US, you will be responsible for leading all claims activities across Rokstone’s US operations.
The Aventum Group (AGL) is an independent, privately owned, debt-free global (re)insurance group that operates across both the underwriting and broking sectors. We currently employ around c400 staff and have 15 offices across 4 continents. Through our wholesale (Consilium) and MGA (Rokstone) platforms, AGL offers clients a range of specialist solutions in all lines of Property and Casualty (re)insurance and is writing more than circa $1.6bn GWP.
AGL's 2026 vision is an insurance group with 5 complementary verticals spanning broking, underwriting, and capital markets, controlling c.$5bn GWP. To achieve this vision AGL has embarked upon a program of organic growth, joint ventures, and M&A activity.
Role Responsibilities
Work with the Global Head of Claims to build out, deliver and lead Rokstone’s Claims service and operating model for its US based underwriting divisions and teams. Immediate focus will be on the US Marine business and thereafter all other US lines of business as applicable and agreed.
The build out of the service and operating model will include, but not be limited to, the following:
Developing the agreed strategy for Claims sourcing models for applicable lines of business.
Working with internal (e.g. Tech, Risk) and external parties to develop and implement appropriate systems, processes and controls for Rokstone Claims within the US lines of business.
Relevant reserving analysis and input to applicable Rokstone teams (e.g. Actuarial, Finance, Underwriting) as well as broker / carrier partners and stakeholders.
Building appropriate MI and reporting as above.
Manage and lead internal and third-party claims resources (e.g. TPAs)
Implementing a continual improvement methodology for US Claims within the context of the wider Rokstone and Aventum group’s initiatives.
Be Rokstone’s principal representative for US based market and industry initiatives and thought leadership.
Build and maintain service relationships with broker / carrier partners and stakeholders.
Any other work as may be assigned by the Global Head of Claims.
Role Requirements
Experience in (re)insurance claims management systems.
Extensive experience as a (Re)insurance Head of Claims or Deputy/ Claims Manager working across various classes of business and handling and overseeing complex claims and Catastrophe events.
Experience in assessing best estimates of aggregate exposure to events across various classes of business, leading Catastrophe response to major events, and reporting to Claims and Underwriting Committees on initial estimates and subsequent developments.
Strong Team manager with the ability to lead, inspire, drive change, streamline processes, and innovate.
Ability to understand and apply regulatory and legal requirements in the context of the claim.
Detailed knowledge of claims life cycle and ability to develop best practices with claims experience.
Knowing various product lines such as aviation, property and marine.
Being able to manage a team, performance review and strategy implementation.
Experience working for an insurer, syndicate or MGA capacity.
