Bearman impresses in FIA3 Silverstone debut

Aventum Group hosted 25 guests at the British Grand Prix earlier this month, but it wasn’t just Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen that everyone came to see.

Aventum-sponsored Ollie Bearman has been on an incredible rise up the motor racing ladder in recent years, and this year is competing in the FIA Formula 3 Championship for Prema Racing.

Qualifying sixth on the grid for the feature race in his first FIA3 home race at Silverstone, it was an eventful day for the 17-year-old.

Straight from the first lap, our guests had a chance to see up close why Ollie is so highly rated, passing several cars on the first lap to move up to fourth.

Despite an incident with Zane Maloney, and subsequent safety car period, Ollie maintained his position for much of the race, challenging Caio Collet on multiple occasions for that much desired podium place.

And his determination eventually paid off, passing Collet for third, and surging right up the road to fight for second.

It all came down to the final lap, as Ollie continued applying the pressure and went side-by-side with Zak O’Sullivan going into the final corner.

Doing all he could to take the place, Ollie pushed his car to the very limit, hitting the inside kerb, and unfortunately finishing 0.051 seconds behind as the two cars crossed the finishing line.

But getting a podium at his home race was still a great result for Ollie, and all our invited guests were very impressed by his aggression and bravery behind the wheel.

Ollie is the son of Aventum founder and CEO, David Bearman, and after becoming the first man to win both the German and Italian F4 titles in the same season in 2021, was signed up to the Ferrari Driver Academy at the start of this year.

After the race, Ollie sat sixth in the overall championship standings – a position he still occupies after making it back-to-back podiums at the Austrian Grand Prix the following week.

His next race is on the weekend of 29 July at the Hungarian Grand Prix.
